Week 11

We are half way through the year - unbelievable.  I am really proud of the progress made by all of my workmates in Room 10.  They are a hard working, talented and beautiful bunch - I'm really quite lucky to be able to spend each day in such good company.  But, this amazing team of Year 2s is backed by an equally amazing team of parents, caregiver, grandparents...  Thank you so much for your support.

This is a very busy week - it's a sprint to the finish.

Reading Logs
Reading Logs go out this week.  Please, please, keep up the reading over the holidays.  In the last holiday break Room 10 had a holiday reading log return rate of 80% (9 boys and 11 girls = 20/26).  We can do better than that.  I want 100% of our reading logs filled in and returned after the holidays. I will be taking photos of the children holding their returned reading logs so that I can make a Reading Wall of Fame display at the beginning of next term (extra incentive to get them in).

You can list books you have read to your child, books they have read alone, recipes, instructions, maps... If your child participated in reading it then it has a place on the reading log.  Our public library is fantastic and has great holiday programmes for our kids.  And, don't forget about the huge library of books on Reading Eggs.

Holiday Reading Competition - Room 10 extra
Snap photos of your kids reading in strange places/positions and email these to me so I can put them on the blog (I will check regularly - but not daily).  The best photo will win a prize.  Here are some ideas:
