Week 2 Term 3
I have spent the weekend in a house filled with 10year old girls. Why did I think a "sleep"over birthday party was a good idea? Spending the week with 26 6yr olds will be a cinch after this.

Parent Interviews
Don't forget to book - space are filling up fast. If your child was marked below standard in reading, writing or maths I really want to see you. A team effort might be just what some of our kids need to get them moving so come on in and let's make a plan.
Golden Time
We have listed and voted on Golden time activities for the next month!!! This week we are having a sports day. If you are bringing any sports equipment to use (I have a PE Shed key so this isn't necessary) PLEASE PLEASE name it clearly.
The NED Show
This looks quite good (and it's one I haven't seen before so that will be nice too). A newsletter was sent home about the show last week with an order form for yo-yos. The purchase of yo-yos is not compulsory but, if you are interested, orders must be in this week.

Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori
The theme for Māori Language Week is ‘Whāngaihia te Reo ki ngā Mātua’ ‘Nurture the language in parents’. So I have linked a few downloadable resources to get you started. The 50 phrases posters are quite good. If you aren't that brave - head to the library and grab a few books of myths and legends. I'll try to put up a few extra helpful hints and tips during the week.Parent Interviews

Oliver finds some unusual places to read
I prefer reading by the fire or curled up in a blanket - not Oliver! He must be tougher than me. Brrrrrrr!!! Oliver Road must be a cool place to chill out.

Goodness Gracious - Term 3 already!!!!

But hold onto your hats because this term we have cross country, parent interviews, Maori language week, NED show, Mary MacKillop Day, Masses and Liturgies... Please, please, please check the blog and the school newsletter (it's on the website if you missed it). We don't want you to miss out on something really amazing.
This week
Monday: TEACHER ONLY DAY
Tuesday:
Wednesday: Singing
Reports and portfolios go home

Friday: Library and Golden time
This term our concept is CYCLES
We are looking at the cycles of sun and moon. We will be learning about day and night, seasons, planets, tides... If you have any knowledge (or resources) you would like to share, please email me.
Holiday Reading Logs are due back as soon as possible. We need 100% this term. There are some amazing prizes in the cupboard- go and have a look. I know what I want!
I have that niggling feeling that I am forgetting something - it might just be the reporting writing haze I'm in at the moment. I'll let you know.
