We are going to start our calendar art this week.  It's going to be spectacular!  We will keep you posted as our wee artists complete their masterpieces.

HELP.
I'm going to need some help this week. On Wednesday (fingers crossed) we will have finished some fabulous writing about a famous artist.  I need 1-2 computer savvy adults to type some stories up for me, please.  I will 'translate' the writing before you get them but we'll need the books back on Thursday.  If you are willing and able can you let me know?

Wed: Maths Night
Thurs:
Fri: Golden Time

School Photos
Children must be in correct uniform and may need their red, woollen jerseys.  Long hair needs to be tied up so we can see your gorgeous faces, please.

Maths Night
A note went home about this last week.  It is a very relaxed evening to give you a bit of information about maths teaching and to give you some quick and easy ideas for supporting learning at home.  We won't put you on the spot and ask you maths problems - promise.

Golden Time
This week we will have "Bring a Toy" (preferably not one with a million tiny pieces). The children gave me a list of ideas for Golden Time activities at the beginning of the term.  We ranked the first 5 but I haven't consulted them on the next few weeks yet - I hope I don't have it wrong.

Stacy Gregg

What a clever lady. She has written 20 books! Some of her books have won children's choice awards. We are keen to read some and see what all of the fuss is all about. Rosa and Tilde have already read a Stacy Gregg book - they recommend them.

Happiness is...

We have just finished some very thoughtful writing about happiness.  It was a big process - Mrs T said we are just too smart for simple, unplanned writing.

First we wrote words to describe what happiness looks like, sounds like and feels like inside.  Then we drew pictures of something that always makes us feel happy and why it makes us feel happy.  Then we had to think about everything we had discussed, written and drawn and think about a way that we could make someone else feel happy. Now we were ready to write.  Once we had drafted and fixed our stories we made a good copy to share with others.  Just for fun, and because we had earned a reward, Mrs T took us out on the playground to take 'Happy Photos" for our writing display.  Mrs T is putting up our stories soon - make sure you come in and have a read.

Week 3 Term 3

We have a wonderful week ahead - nothing to break our routine until Friday.

Friday:
Mary MacKillop Day
This is our school's feast day and we have a wonderful day of celebration ahead.
We start with mass at 9am which all parents, family and friends are welcome to.
After morning tea we have some great activities based on the life and work of Mary MacKillop.

We also have a shared lunch.  Please, bring a plate of food to share with our Year 2 classes. Preferably something a little bit healthy that children can pick up easily.  We won't have knives, forks, spoons, etc.

We have a few kids at school with serious allergies. PLEASE, DO NOT SEND ANYTHING THAT CONTAINS, OR HAS COME IN CONTACT WITH NUTS.
