Welcome to Room 10. It's going to be a great year and I am really looking forward to getting to know you and your whanau.

Frequently Asked Questions:
I have made a Need to Know page on the blog. This page includes office hours, bell times and lots of answers to frequently asked questions.  You can find my email address there too - in case the answer to your question isn't there.  A 'meet the teacher' evening is likely to be on the calendar soon - I'll post more information as it comes to hand.

Week One
The first week will be spent getting back into the school routine. We will be getting straight into reading, writing, maths but it will take me a few weeks to finish some testing and get the kids working at the right levels. We'll also look at the golden rules, find out some interesting facts about our new friends and learn how Room 10 will run this term.

I will have stationery stations set up in the first few days. If you could spare a couple of minutes to label your child's stationery and place in the boxes provided, I would be most appreciative.

I will also have a large sheet of paper asking for parent email addresses. I am hoping to show the children how they can email you videos, photos and examples of their best work.  It will take a while to set up but that's the plan.

Parent Help
I love parent help. I'm looking for regular volunteers to work alongside the kids in class.  It will mainly be playing games and listening to reading - nothing scary.  I also need a few kind souls who would like to take home books and type up stories, laminate resources, make playdough... as needed. I look forward to hearing from you.

Communication
This blog is your main source of Room 10 information. There will be the occasional email, printed notice or phone call.  The school newsletter is emailed on Wednesday and can be found on the school website. A printed copy can be picked up from the school office, if needed. Mr Macmillan tweets notices, updates and reminders. I have his twitter feed running up the side of our blog but he would love a few more friends if you have an account of your own.

Here is a little exciting news to write on the calendar:
-  Swimming will be in even weeks beginning in week 2
- Rooms 10 and 2 will be leading the Ash Wednesday celebration in week 3
- The opening school mass is Thursday 12th February at 2pm
